The longer binding period also applies to already established patient orders.<br><br>Binding patient orders therefore lose their binding force after eight years from the date of establishment. After this period, the patient\u2019s order may be renewed. If the patient lacks the ability to make a decision and is therefore unable to renew the patient\u2019s order, it does not lose its binding force.
